I’m glad Tyler Huntley is a Raven. Baltimore needed him Sunday night, and he helped bring home a 30–23 overtime win in Atlanta with Lamar Jackson out injured.

Huntley completed 24 of 32 passes for 201 yards and threw two touchdowns. He led the late touchdown drive that gave the Ravens a chance to tie it, with Derrick Henry adding the two-point conversion. Then Huntley finished a 14-play overtime drive by taking the ball into the end zone himself. Kyle Hamilton’s interception closed it out.

The number I keep coming back to is 11. Huntley completed his final 11 passes. When Baltimore needed to keep moving, he kept finding someone. That’s a lot to ask of a quarterback filling in, especially with the game getting away from you late.

I’ve thought for a while that he’s one of the best backups in the league. I like his accuracy and his ability to move, and he’s always felt like a good fit here. The Ravens can still run an offense that asks the quarterback to do both. Sunday gave us another reason to feel good about having him.

I want Lamar healthy and back on the field. Until then, having Huntley means Baltimore can go into a game expecting to win. He helped keep this team at the top of the AFC North at 4–1, and the Ravens head to Cleveland with a win they had to work for.
